Vice-President Attends Bharat Parv 2026 Closing at Red Fort

RR Team, January 31, 2026January 31, 2026
Vice-President of India Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan on Friday attended the closing ceremony of Bharat Parv 2026 at the historic Red Fort Lawns in New Delhi, describing the festival as a living reflection of India’s unity in diversity. The six-day cultural extravaganza, organised by the Ministry of Tourism as part of the Republic Day celebrations, showcased the country’s rich traditions, artistic heritage and growing tourism potential.
Bharat Parv 2026 brought together States and Union Territories on a single platform, offering visitors a comprehensive experience of India’s cultural and civilisational diversity.

Bharat Parv Reflects the Soul of India

Addressing the gathering, the Vice-President said Bharat Parv is much more than a cultural festival and termed it a vibrant national experience that brings alive the timeless spirit of India. He noted that the event carried forward the ethos of the 77th Republic Day and reflected the soul of the nation through enthusiastic participation from across the country.

He observed that the Republic Day Parade symbolised India’s unity in diversity, discipline in strength and progress with a clear sense of purpose. The tableaux presented by various States and central Ministries, he said, beautifully narrated the story of a confident, creative and progressive India.

Commitment to Viksit Bharat @ 2047

Referring to the national vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, the Vice-President said the themes highlighted during Bharat Parv underlined India’s collective resolve to build a developed and inclusive nation. He appreciated how the displays showcased innovation, heritage conservation and sustainable development side by side.

He also highlighted that the year holds special national significance as India commemorates 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’. The iconic song, he said, ignited the spirit of freedom and unity during the independence movement and continues to inspire reverence for the motherland.

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat in Action

Underscoring the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Vice-President said Bharat Parv truly reflects the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. He noted that the festival brought together diverse traditions, crafts, cuisines and artistic expressions on a single platform, strengthening cultural bonds among regions.

Initiatives such as the Kashi Tamil Sangamam were cited as living examples of India’s civilisational unity and enduring cultural connections that transcend geographical boundaries.

Tourism Growth During Amrit Kaal

Speaking on India’s transformation during the Amrit Kaal, the Vice-President said sustained progress in infrastructure, digital empowerment, financial inclusion, social security, women-led development and youth innovation is reshaping the nation’s foundations.

He pointed out that domestic tourism has witnessed remarkable growth, with more than 400 crore domestic tourist visits recorded in 2025. This surge, he said, reflects renewed national confidence and a growing desire among citizens to explore India’s cultural and natural heritage.

Boost to Connectivity and Regional Development

The Vice-President highlighted that continued investments in connectivity and tourism infrastructure are ensuring balanced regional development. Improved road networks, expanded rail connectivity through Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains, new airports and upgraded facilities at heritage and pilgrimage sites were cited as key drivers.

He noted that such initiatives are especially benefiting previously less-connected regions, including the North-East, by integrating them more closely into the national tourism and economic ecosystem.

Appreciation for Organisers and Participants

Congratulating the Ministry of Tourism, the Vice-President described Bharat Parv as its flagship annual event that seamlessly blends culture, tourism and national pride. He appreciated the efforts of artists, artisans, performers, volunteers and organisers for making the festival inclusive, safe and memorable.

Union Minister of State for Tourism, Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Suresh Gopi, Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism Dr. Srivatsa Krishna, senior government officials and representatives from participating States and Union Territories were present at the ceremony.

Call to Celebrate and Build India Together

Concluding his address, the Vice-President called upon citizens to continue exploring, celebrating and building India together. He expressed confidence that Bharat Parv will continue to strengthen bonds among India’s people, regions and cultures in the years to come.
