
Key Engagements in Puducherry on December 29

The Vice-President will begin his tour on December 29 in Puducherry, where he is scheduled to attend a civic reception organised in his honour. As part of the visit, Shri Radhakrishnan will unveil the statue of Mahakavi Subramania Bharathiar, paying tribute to the legendary poet, freedom fighter and social reformer.
He will also launch a housing project under the Smart City Mission, reaffirming the Centre’s commitment to urban development, affordable housing and improved civic infrastructure in the Union Territory.
Pondicherry University Convocation
Later in the day, the Vice-President will attend the 30th Convocation of Pondicherry University as the Chief Guest. Addressing graduating students, he is expected to underline the role of higher education in nation-building, innovation and ethical leadership.
The convocation ceremony is a significant academic milestone for the university and offers a platform for reinforcing the values of scholarship, research excellence and social responsibility among India’s youth.
Visit to Kerala and Trivandrum Fest 2025
Following his engagements in Puducherry, Shri Radhakrishnan will travel to Kerala on the evening of December 29. He will attend the Trivandrum Fest 2025, a major cultural event that celebrates Kerala’s artistic traditions, creativity and community participation.
The Vice-President’s presence at the festival underscores the importance of cultural exchange and the promotion of India’s diverse heritage at regional and national levels.
Sivagiri Pilgrimage and Educational Milestones
On December 30, the Vice-President will participate in the 93rd Sivagiri Pilgrimage at Varkala, Kerala. The pilgrimage, inspired by the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru, is known for promoting the ideals of social equality, spiritual awakening and universal brotherhood.
Later the same day, Shri Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the public meeting marking the conclusion of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of Mar Ivanios College in Thiruvananthapuram. The event commemorates the institution’s long-standing contribution to higher education and social development.
Kashi–Tamil Sangamam 4.0 in Tamil Nadu
Concluding his two-day tour, the Vice-President will travel to Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, where he will attend the valedictory ceremony of Kashi–Tamil Sangamam 4.0 as the Chief Guest.
The initiative aims to strengthen the centuries-old cultural and civilisational ties between Kashi and Tamil Nadu, fostering national integration through shared heritage, language and traditions.
