Celebrating Generosity and Inclusivity
Shri Radhakrishnan highlighted that Deepawali is a time for generosity, charity, and inclusivity. He urged citizens to extend support to underprivileged and needy sections of society, making the festival not only a personal celebration but also a collective expression of care and compassion.
“This year, as we celebrate Deepawali, let us shun negativity and Adharma and embrace positivity and Dharma – not only for our individual well-being but for the overall progress of the Nation,” he said, stressing the importance of ethical conduct and social responsibility.
Unity and Collective Progress
The Vice-President drew an analogy with the traditional lighting of diyas, stating that just as countless lamps illuminate the night sky together, the dedication and commitment of every citizen can collectively foster growth and prosperity for Bharat. This message underscores the role of unity and shared effort in national development.
He further prayed to Goddess Lakshmi to bless every individual with peace, prosperity, and good health, reinforcing the spiritual significance of the festival alongside social and ethical reflections.
Message to Citizens
In his official message, Shri Radhakrishnan said: “On the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, I extend my warm greetings and hearty wishes to all Indians and friends of India, both in the country and abroad. Deepawali celebrates the triumph of goodness over evil and knowledge over ignorance. Let our dedication and commitment usher in collective growth for Bharat. Shubh Deepawali!”
