Arrival and Coimbatore engagements (Oct 28)
Shri Radhakrishnan arrives in Coimbatore on October 28 following an official visit to the Republic of Seychelles (October 26–27), where he attended the swearing-in of H. E. Dr. Patrick Herminie as President of Seychelles. On arrival at Coimbatore Airport, he will receive a public reception and be felicitated by the Coimbatore Citizen Forum at CODISSIA.
During the afternoon he will pay homage at the Mahatma Gandhi statue at the Town Hall Corporation Building and visit the historic Perur Mutt to participate in centenary celebrations for Shanthalinga Ramasamy Adigalar a key cultural event in the city.
Tiruppur and Madurai itinerary (Oct 28–29)
Later on October 28, the Vice-President will proceed to Tiruppur where he will pay floral tributes at statues of freedom fighter Tiruppur Kumaran and Mahatma Gandhi. The following day, October 29, he will attend a felicitation programme in Tiruppur that will bring together business groups and civic leaders.
That evening Shri Radhakrishnan will reach Madurai to offer prayers at the famed Meenakshi Amman Temple, underscoring the cultural and spiritual dimensions of his visit to southern Tamil Nadu.
Ramanathapuram engagement and Pasumpon Thevar Jayanthi (Oct 30)
On October 30 the Vice-President will attend the Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar Jayanthi programme in Pasumpon, Ramanathapuram district a commemorative event dedicated to the revered freedom-era leader whose legacy resonates across the region.
The Ramanathapuram engagement is expected to draw local leaders, community representatives and devotees, and will form the concluding segment of the Vice-President’s maiden Tamil Nadu tour.
Significance of the visit
The Vice-President’s tour is his first to the state since assuming office and carries symbolic importance for civic outreach and cultural diplomacy. The schedule mixes ceremonial honours with devotional visits, reflecting the vice-presidential office’s role in fostering national unity and engagement with regional traditions.
Officials said the itinerary also provides opportunities to interact with local stakeholders in industry, education and civil society an outreach that complements the Vice-President’s constitutional and ceremonial responsibilities.

Security and ceremonial arrangements will follow established protocols for a vice-presidential visit. Local administrations in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Madurai and Ramanathapuram are coordinating with the Vice-President’s Secretariat to ensure smooth conduct of public events and felicitation programmes.
