A Journey of 25 Years in Service and Spiritual Learning
Founded 24 years ago, the Om Shanti Retreat Centre has grown into a major spiritual learning campus that draws thousands of participants annually. The Vice-President praised the institution for evolving into a space that attracts scientists, administrators, educators, doctors, and policymakers seeking clarity and peace through Rajyoga meditation.
He also commended the Brahma Kumaris for being the world’s largest women-led spiritual organisation and for demonstrating how disciplined meditation, compassion, and leadership can create meaningful societal change.
Bharat’s Spiritual Foundations Highlighted
Shri Radhakrishnan emphasised that India’s civilizational depth lies in its profound spiritual traditions. From the ancient tapasya of sages to the structured practices of Rajyoga and Vipassana, he said India’s guiding philosophy has always centred on inner awakening.
“True strength and clarity emerge from within,” he noted, reaffirming that meditation is not merely a wellness trend but a foundational practice enabling individuals to navigate complexities with balance, wisdom, and purpose.
Meditation and Viksit Bharat@2047
The Vice-President linked inner peace to national growth, stating that the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi requires not just economic transformation but emotional well-being and spiritual resilience. He urged citizens to adopt meditation as a life skill essential for emotional stability, productivity, and harmony.
He further observed that inner peace must complement outer progress, forming the foundation of a confident and compassionate society.
Commitment to Sustainability and Mission LiFE
OSRC’s various environmental initiatives also received high appreciation. Aligned with Mission LiFE, the Centre has adopted multiple green practices, including a 1 MW hybrid solar power plant, advanced rainwater harvesting systems, a sewage treatment facility, biogas production, and extensive tree plantation efforts under the Kalp Taru initiative.
The Vice-President remarked that these initiatives demonstrate how spiritual institutions can promote sustainable living and inspire communities to adopt eco-friendly habits.
Supporting National Campaigns and Social Welfare
Shri Radhakrishnan acknowledged the Brahma Kumaris’ contribution to national campaigns like ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ and their consistent efforts to promote the dignity of senior citizens, youth empowerment, and the practice of Karmayoga in various professions.
Referring to the recent launch of the annual campaign “Rajyoga Meditation for World Unity and Trust” by President Smt. Droupadi Murmu in Lucknow, he expressed confidence that the Silver Jubilee Year would bring wider outreach, deeper collaborations, and renewed spiritual awakening across communities.
The event was attended by Shri Rao Narbir Singh, Haryana’s Minister for Environment & Forest and Industry & Commerce, along with several senior members of the Brahma Kumaris organisation.
