Kevadia, Gujarat | July 12, 2025: The Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) will host a key Zonal Meeting in Kevadia on 12th July 2025. The gathering aims to improve grassroots services through digital tools and stronger Centre-State cooperation.
Union Minister to Lead the Dialogue
Smt. Annpurna Devi, Union Minister for WCD, will lead the meeting. She will be joined by Smt. Savitri Thakur, Minister of State for WCD, and Smt. Bhanuben Babariya, Minister from Gujarat.
Ministers and senior officials from six States and UTs—Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Goa, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu—will take part.
Focus on Flagship Schemes
The meeting will focus on three major schemes:
- Mission Shakti: Strengthening women’s safety and empowerment.
- Mission Vatsalya: Ensuring child protection and care.
- Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0: Improving nutrition and modernizing Anganwadi services.
Officials will discuss how digital tools like the Poshan Tracker and Face Recognition Systems improve speed and accuracy in service delivery.
States to Share Innovations
Each State will showcase its successful models and field solutions. The Ministry wants these examples to inspire cross-learning and replication.
This open platform allows States to exchange ideas and solutions. It encourages real-time problem solving and practical improvements.
Green and Cultural Initiatives
The Ministry will launch a plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. This effort promotes care for both the environment and family values.
Delegates will also visit the Children’s Nutrition Park and the Statue of Unity. They will take part in the Narmada Aarti and enjoy a light and sound show, blending development goals with cultural experiences.
Building a Stronger Bharat
This zonal meet supports the broader goal of a Viksit Bharat. It aims to speed up delivery of essential services to women and children. The Ministry wants every citizen to benefit from technology and community-driven governance.
