Strategic Partnership to Enhance Global Access

The Statement of Intent was signed by Ms. Anna Roy, Mission Director, WEP, in the presence of Shri B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, CEO, NITI Aayog. The initiative will identify women-led MSMEs across India with high growth potential and provide them with mentorship, market linkages, and guidance to meet international trade standards. Selected entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to showcase their products at Bharat Mart in Dubai, a major B2B and B2C marketplace within Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza).
Supporting Product-Centric Women Entrepreneurs
Leveraging DP World’s global logistics network, the partnership aims to enhance the export readiness of 100 women entrepreneurs. With over 90,000 women entrepreneurs already engaged on WEP, the programme focuses on scaling businesses, facilitating market access, and building long-term trade capacity. This collaboration exemplifies a public-private effort to drive inclusive economic growth by empowering women-led enterprises.
Government and Industry Leaders Speak
Shri B.V.R. Subrahmanyam emphasized that ‘We Rise’ aligns with the Government of India’s vision for women-led economic growth, creating an enabling ecosystem for scaling businesses globally. Ms. Anna Roy highlighted the importance of curated interventions and collaboration between public and private sectors to promote women exporters, praising DP World for its commitment to inclusive trade.
About WEP and ATR Initiative
WEP, incubated within NITI Aayog in 2018, became a public-private partnership in 2022, aggregating over 47 partners to strengthen India’s women entrepreneurship ecosystem. It addresses six key needs: access to finance, market linkages, training and skilling, mentoring and networking, compliance and legal support, and business development services. The ATR initiative, launched in 2023, institutionalizes WEP’s partnership framework, promoting scalable collaborations and celebrating women entrepreneurs’ success stories.
Driving Inclusive Growth for Women Entrepreneurs
‘We Rise’ demonstrates a holistic approach to women-led development, combining mentorship, market access, and global trade facilitation. By unlocking new opportunities for Indian women entrepreneurs, it aims to enhance their competitiveness on international platforms while fostering sustainable and inclusive business growth.
