Formalization and Udyam Registrations
The Udyam Registration Portal crossed 7.3 crore registrations by December 2025, including 4.37 crore on Udyam and 2.92 crore on the Udyam Assist Platform. These platforms facilitate easy digital registration, enabling MSMEs to access government schemes and priority sector lending. The revised MSME classification thresholds, effective April 2025, further empowered enterprises to scale operations with higher investment and turnover limits.
Credit and Financial Support
The Credit Guarantee Scheme for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGSMSE) celebrated 25 years, approving 29.03 lakh guarantees worth Rs. 3.77 lakh crore in 2025 alone. The ceiling was enhanced to Rs. 10 crore, and special provisions for transgender entrepreneurs were introduced. The Self-Reliant India (SRI) Fund also provided Rs. 613 crore to support 129 high-potential MSMEs in 2025.
The Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) assisted 84,034 micro enterprises in 2025, providing Rs. 3,125 crore in margin money and generating employment for over 6.7 lakh people.
PM Vishwakarma Scheme
Within two years of its launch, the PM Vishwakarma Scheme achieved 30 lakh beneficiary registrations. In 2025, 7.7 lakh beneficiaries received skill training, Rs. 2,257 crore in credit support, 6.7 lakh were digitally enabled, and 10.57 lakh modern toolkits were distributed. The Ministry also organized 138 trade fairs and exhibitions to promote artisans and craftspeople nationwide.
Infrastructure and Capacity Building
The RAMP scheme, supported by the World Bank, strengthened market, finance, and technology access for MSMEs. Under MSE-CDP, 11 projects worth Rs. 253.23 crore were approved in 2025. The Ministry also focused on MSME development in North Eastern Region and Sikkim, approving 8 infrastructure projects worth Rs. 114.37 crore.
Market Access and Procurement Support
The Public Procurement Policy ensured 25% procurement from MSEs, with Rs. 93,017 crore procured in 2024-25. The Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) Scheme benefitted 10,271 MSEs through 225 trade fairs and exhibitions. The National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) empowered SC/ST entrepreneurs, with 19,259 beneficiaries accessing schemes and 111 Special Vendor Development Programmes conducted in 2025.
Technology and Innovation
The MSME Champions Scheme advanced technological adoption through ZED (Sustainable), LEAN (Competitive), and Innovative (Incubation, Design & IPR) initiatives. In 2025, 52,369 ideas were received under MSME Hackathon 5.0, 2,71,373 MSMEs registered under ZED, and 32,077 under LEAN, enhancing efficiency and competitiveness.
The Ministry expanded its Technology Centres (TCs), setting up 20 new centres and 100 extension centres. Nine TCs were dedicated to the nation, assisting 1,520 MSMEs and training 59,357 trainees in 2025.
Skilling and Training
Under Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP), 8,263 training programmes benefited 3,96,706 individuals in 2025. Assistance to Training Institutions (ATI) supported infrastructure and skill development, training 8,060 individuals across 9 institutes in the same period.
