A powerful youth-led movement is taking shape in Varanasi. From July 19 to 20, 2025, the Youth Spiritual Summit on the theme “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” will unfold at the Rudraksh Convention Centre. Organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, this historic event brings together over 500 youth delegates from 100 spiritual and socio-cultural organizations across India.
Historic Platform at the Heart of Kashi
Held on the sacred banks of the Ganga, the summit offers more than just dialogue—it initiates a cultural and moral revolution. Distinguished leaders including Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla (Governor of Himachal Pradesh), Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Dr. Virendra Kumar, and other senior ministers from both Centre and Uttar Pradesh will grace the event.
Their presence underscores the significance of youth in shaping a drug-free, spiritually anchored, developed India.
Action-Packed Agenda: Dialogue, Strategy, and Spirit
The two-day summit features four intensive plenary sessions addressing:
- Psychological and social roots of drug addiction
- Breaking supply and distribution chains
- Effective youth-led awareness campaigns
- Drafting a national action roadmap for Nasha Mukt Bharat
Beyond talks, the event includes whiteboard forums, keynote addresses, and action workshops—all focused on empowering youth with strategy and purpose.
The Kashi Declaration: A Youth-Led Roadmap
The summit will culminate in the unveiling of the Kashi Declaration on July 20. This pivotal document, born from the collective will of young minds and spiritual mentors, will lay out an actionable blueprint for India’s war on drugs.
It is envisioned as a guiding framework for policymakers, civil society groups, and youth networks working on rehabilitation and awareness across India.
MY Bharat Platform: Launching a Jan Andolan
Aligned with the MY Bharat platform, the summit also triggers the start of a nationwide Jan Andolan against drugs. Thousands of MY Bharat volunteers will carry forward this spirit through:
- Pledge campaigns in schools and colleges
- Village-level awareness drives
- City-wide spiritual marches and outreach events
This long-term effort will combine moral conviction with youth leadership to ensure lasting impact.
Why This Summit Matters Now
India stands at a critical crossroads. The youth, constituting over 65% of our population, face growing exposure to substance abuse. Tackling this challenge requires more than policing. It demands inspiration, purpose, and cultural roots.
The Youth Spiritual Summit, by blending spiritual wisdom with youthful energy, is an ideal platform for this mission. Its outcomes can inspire similar initiatives across states and set a template for future de-addiction movements globally.
