At the outset, the Seva Sankalp Resolution was read out, setting the tone for detailed discussions on its implementation. The Secretary emphasised that governance must be driven by dedication, integrity and responsiveness, placing citizens at the centre of every policy and action.
He called for a cultural shift in public administration from a “sense of entitlement” to a “sense of service.” According to him, this transformation is critical to building trust between citizens and institutions.
The Secretary further encouraged officials to perform their duties with “shraddha bhaav,” or a spirit of sincerity and devotion, ensuring that their work leaves a lasting institutional legacy.
Aligning with Viksit Bharat Vision
Discussions during the meeting also reflected on achievements made over the past 12 years across various sectors in pursuit of the Viksit Bharat vision. Structural reforms and governance improvements undertaken by multiple government departments were reviewed in the context of strengthening institutional efficiency.
Officers examined how parliamentary processes and administrative functions within MoPA could be further streamlined to contribute effectively to national development goals.
The deliberations underscored the importance of ensuring that legislative responsibilities are discharged with transparency and procedural discipline.
Strengthening Transparency and Accountability
A significant portion of the meeting focused on enhancing transparency, improving coordination and ensuring time-bound disposal of official work. Participants stressed that responsiveness and clarity in communication are essential for effective governance.
