Bomb Threat Emails Trigger Panic in Delhi Schools

RR Team, February 13, 2026February 13, 2026
Several schools in Delhi were placed on high alert on Friday after receiving bomb threat emails, prompting immediate action from security agencies and causing panic among students, parents, and school authorities. The Delhi Police launched a swift investigation and deployed teams to conduct security checks, ensuring the safety of school campuses across the national capital.

Threat Emails Trigger Emergency Response

The first bomb threat call was reported at around 9:13 am at BD Tamil Education School in Jhandewalan, according to initial information from authorities. Following the alert, police teams and security personnel were immediately dispatched to the school and other locations that received similar threatening messages.

Officials initiated thorough security sweeps of the affected premises, following standard operating procedures designed to handle potential threats. Police personnel conducted detailed inspections of classrooms, administrative buildings, and surrounding areas to rule out any immediate danger.

Authorities acted quickly to ensure that students and staff were safe and that all necessary precautions were in place while investigations continued.

Police Launch Investigation to Trace Source

The Delhi Police have begun a full-scale investigation to identify the origin of the threatening emails. Cybercrime teams are working to trace the digital footprints behind the messages, focusing on identifying those responsible for triggering panic and disrupting normal school operations.

Investigators are analyzing email servers, IP addresses, and related technical data to determine whether the threats were credible or part of a hoax. Law enforcement agencies have emphasized that strict action will be taken against those found responsible.

Students and Parents Express Concern

The bomb threat emails created anxiety among parents and school authorities, with many seeking confirmation about the safety of their children. Schools responded by strengthening internal security measures and coordinating closely with law enforcement agencies.

Some institutions temporarily restricted access to campuses while security checks were underway. School administrators also communicated with parents to provide updates and reassure them about safety measures being implemented.

Parents and teachers welcomed the swift response by the police, noting that prompt action helped prevent panic and ensured the safety of students.

Authorities Urge Public to Remain Calm

Officials have urged parents, students, and school staff to remain calm while investigations continue. Authorities stressed that security checks are precautionary and necessary to ensure public safety.

The Delhi Police reiterated their commitment to maintaining safety and preventing any potential threat to educational institutions. Emergency protocols were activated immediately after the threats were reported, demonstrating preparedness and coordination among security agencies.

Authorities also encouraged citizens to report suspicious activity and cooperate with investigations. Public cooperation is considered essential for maintaining security and preventing future incidents.

Rising Concern Over Threat Emails Nationwide

Bomb threat emails targeting schools and public institutions have emerged as a recurring challenge across several Indian cities in recent years. Many such incidents have later been confirmed as hoaxes, but they continue to disrupt normal activities and create widespread fear.

Security experts highlight the importance of strengthening cyber surveillance, improving threat detection systems, and increasing awareness to prevent misuse of digital platforms for criminal activities.

Safety Remains Top Priority

The safety of students and educational institutions remains a top priority for authorities. Law enforcement agencies are maintaining heightened vigilance and are committed to taking strong action against individuals responsible for issuing threats.

While no suspicious objects or explosives had been confirmed at the time of reporting, authorities are continuing precautionary inspections to ensure complete safety.

The investigation remains ongoing, and further updates are expected as police work to identify the source of the bomb threat emails. Officials have assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to maintain safety and restore normalcy in schools across Delhi.
