Buddha Purnima, also known as Vesak in many parts of South and Southeast Asia, is one of the most spiritually significant days in the Buddhist calendar. It commemorates the life and teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, who was born in 623 BC in Lumbini, Nepal, and attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya. According to Drik Panchang, this year’s Purnima Tithi began at 8:01 PM on May 11 and will end at 10:25 PM on May 12.
