Rushed to Hospital, Declared Dead
Police sources said Roy was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital after being found injured. He was later shifted to Narayana Hospital at HSR Layout for advanced medical care. Despite emergency efforts by doctors, he was declared dead on arrival.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar confirmed the incident, stating that investigators are examining all circumstances surrounding the death. “The Income Tax team was searching the premises for the last few days. A team from Kerala had also arrived. We are in touch with the family members, who are currently outside India and are expected to arrive shortly,” he said.
Family Alleges Prolonged Pressure
Roy’s brother, Babu, told Malayalam television channels that the businessman possessed a licensed firearm. He alleged that the prolonged Income Tax raids had caused immense stress to Roy, claiming that officials had been questioning him continuously over several days.
Police have, however, maintained that the investigation remains open and that no conclusions will be drawn until forensic reports and post-mortem findings are completed.
