DA&FW Leads Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 Drive at Krishi Bhawan

RR Team, September 26, 2025September 26, 2025
The Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (DA&FW) led a spirited cleanliness initiative under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign, embracing the theme of ‘Swachhotsav’. This effort was carried out across its headquarters at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi, and coordinated with its subordinate and attached offices nationwide.
Under the banner “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath”, a human chain was formed at Gate No. 1 of Krishi Bhawan on Thursday, followed by a walkathon around the premises. The activity concluded with a focused cleanliness drive outside the boundary walls and in the stretch between Kartavya Path and the Krishi Bhawan walls, ensuring the campus and surrounding areas were debris-free.

Leadership and Participation

Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi, Secretary of DA&FW, personally led the one-hour program, supervising the cleaning activities and providing guidance to participants. More than 400 officials, including officers at various levels and cleaning staff, actively took part in the campaign, demonstrating a unified commitment to maintaining a clean environment.

During the drive, the Secretary instructed that housekeeping activities cover up to a 10-foot radius from Krishi Bhawan walls. He emphasized that cleanliness should be a continuous effort and that all individuals must ensure they avoid littering, while also encouraging others to do the same.

Promoting Sustainable Cleanliness

The initiative reflected DA&FW’s ongoing commitment to institutionalizing hygiene and environmental responsibility. By combining government-led directives with active staff participation, the campaign highlighted the significance of collective action in achieving long-term cleanliness goals.

Participants were encouraged to adopt personal responsibility, recognizing that consistent small actions can contribute to a larger, sustained impact on public health and campus hygiene. The program also reinforced the Ministry’s broader objectives of promoting sustainable, clean, and disciplined public spaces.

Community Engagement

The Swachhata drive at Krishi Bhawan was more than a symbolic gesture; it served as a practical demonstration of how structured community efforts can create a cleaner environment. By involving officials at all levels, DA&FW showcased how institutional leadership and citizen engagement can work hand-in-hand to support the vision of a Swachh Bharat.

The one-hour activity not only cleared visible waste but also created awareness among participants about sustainable practices, ensuring that cleanliness becomes an ingrained habit rather than a one-time event.
