Delhi Showcases Film Facilitation Push at EFM Berlin 2026

RR Team, February 15, 2026February 15, 2026
The Delhi Government showcased its ambitious film facilitation framework and tourism-driven cinematic ecosystem at the European Film Market (EFM) Berlin 2026, underlining its vision to position the national capital as a globally competitive, film-friendly city. The presentation was facilitated by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and held at Bharat Parv during the Waves Bazaar, a platform dedicated to promoting India’s creative economy on the world stage.

The participation marked a significant step in India’s global film outreach efforts, with Delhi highlighting reforms focused on ease of doing business, single-window clearances and seamless coordination among government agencies to attract international productions.

Delhi Delegation Engages Global Film Industry

The Delhi delegation was led by Kapil Mishra, Minister of Tourism and Art & Culture, Government of Delhi. Senior officials including Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Managing Director and CEO of Delhi Tourism, and representatives from the Film Shooting Promotion Cell were also part of the delegation.

During interactions with international producers, studios, festival programmers and market stakeholders, the delegation outlined Delhi’s strategic intent to become a preferred filming destination by combining its historical depth, cultural diversity and modern urban infrastructure.

Single-Window Film Facilitation Takes Centre Stage

At Bharat Parv, Delhi’s presentation focused on its streamlined film facilitation framework designed to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and ensure time-bound approvals. The single-window system aims to simplify permissions for domestic and international filmmakers by enabling coordinated clearances through NFDC and the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation.

Officials emphasised that institutional coordination and policy predictability are central to Delhi’s approach, making it easier for production houses to plan and execute shoots across the city.

Tourism Ecosystem Powers Film Tourism

Delhi’s robust tourism ecosystem was highlighted as a key enabler for film tourism. In 2024 alone, the capital recorded over 46 million domestic tourist visits, with tourism contributing nearly five percent to the Union Territory’s gross domestic product.

The delegation showcased Delhi’s wide range of filming locations, including heritage monuments, historic precincts, government buildings, bustling markets, landscaped gardens, convention centres and a strong hospitality network catering to international crews.

International Film Festival of Delhi Highlighted

The role of the International Film Festival of Delhi was also underscored as an emerging platform for global cinematic exchange. The festival was presented as a growing international event that brings together filmmakers, industry professionals and audiences from around the world.

Officials noted that such platforms not only promote cross-cultural dialogue but also provide valuable networking and exposure opportunities for Indian and international filmmakers alike.

NFDC Reinforces Commitment to Global Outreach

As the nodal agency for promoting India as a filming destination, NFDC curated and facilitated Delhi’s participation at EFM Berlin. The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with State Governments and Union Territories to integrate regional film ecosystems into India’s global promotion strategy.

The engagement aligns with India’s broader objective of strengthening international industry linkages and positioning the country as a competitive, film-friendly destination for global collaborations.

Expanding Delhi’s Global Creative Footprint

The showcase at EFM Berlin marked an important milestone in expanding Delhi’s international presence in the creative industries. By highlighting policy reforms, tourism strengths and institutional support, the capital presented itself as a city ready to host large-scale international productions.

The initiative also reinforced India’s growing reputation as a reliable and attractive destination for global film partnerships, supported by transparent governance and a vibrant cultural landscape.
