Department of Posts Launches Special Campaign 5.0 Nationwide

RR Team, October 2, 2025October 1, 2025
The Department of Posts has officially launched the implementation phase of Special Campaign 5.0, running from 2nd October to 31st October 2025. The campaign, aimed at strengthening efficiency and promoting cleanliness across postal operations nationwide, follows an intensive preparatory phase held from 15th September to 30th September.
Aligned with the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 initiative, the campaign leverages the observance of 2nd October as Swachhta Diwas to reinforce commitment toward a cleaner and more effective governance system.

Building on Past Achievements

Special Campaign 5.0 builds upon the successes of Special Campaign 4.0, during which the Department of Posts reached 1,00,000 sites, generated ₹1.15 crore from scrap disposal, and implemented multiple initiatives demonstrating measurable impact.

Encouraged by these outcomes, this year’s campaign aims to surpass previous achievements by mobilizing postal staff across the country to actively participate in key initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and public service.

Focus Areas of Special Campaign 5.0

  • Timely resolution of public grievances and inter-ministerial references.
  • Cleanliness drives across all postal establishments nationwide.
  • Efficient disposal of scrap from postal offices and facilities.
  • Review and weeding of outdated files to streamline record management.
  • Freeing up and optimal reuse of office space for productive purposes.

Targets for 2025

The Department has set ambitious targets under Special Campaign 5.0, including the resolution of 90,000 grievances, review and potential weeding of 70,000 files, early disposal of 800 pending public appeals, and conducting cleanliness campaigns at 1,25,000 sites across India.

These targets reflect a concerted effort to institutionalize both operational efficiency and Swachhata practices, fostering behavioral change among postal staff and citizens alike.

Nationwide Impact

Through its extensive network and people-centric approach, the Department of Posts aims to play a pivotal role in improving governance, promoting civic responsibility, and enhancing public trust. By integrating cleanliness, grievance resolution, and optimal resource utilization into daily operations, the campaign seeks to deliver measurable benefits to Indian citizens nationwide.
