Dr. Singh highlighted India’s trajectory to become a global hub of scientific talent, technology creation, and innovation-led growth, driven by the mission 2047. He emphasized that PM Modi’s participation underscored the government’s highest priority for science and innovation, with the Prime Minister addressing critical domains from biofortified crops and nutritional security to personalized medicine, clean energy, and biofertilizers.
Whole-of-Government, Whole-of-Nation Approach
The Minister praised the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser for coordinating ESTIC 2025, which brought together 13 Ministries and Departments to align national priorities in emerging research domains. The presence of Nobel Laureate Sir Andre Geim and other distinguished scientists, thought leaders, and industry pioneers highlighted India’s commitment to collaborative innovation.
Empowering Young Researchers & Start-Ups
Dr. Singh noted the energy and ingenuity of young researchers and deep-tech start-ups, reflecting the “spirit of New India’s innovation.” He suggested virtual workshops to enhance presentation skills of poster participants and proposed structured interactions between start-ups and investors to foster productive collaborations.
Strengthening Academia-Industry-Government Collaboration
Dr. Singh emphasized that initiatives like the RDI Scheme and Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) will drive long-term academia-industry-government collaboration. He also lauded the VAIBHAV Fellowship sessions that showcased the dedication of Indian-origin scientists globally, encouraging structured engagement for greater national impact.
Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047
Concluding his address, Dr. Singh stated that ESTIC 2025 marks the beginning of a new chapter in India’s scientific evolution. The ideas and collaborations from the Conclave are expected to be translated into actionable policies and programs aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047, reinforcing India’s goal of becoming a global powerhouse in science, innovation, and technology.
