Dr. Jitendra Singh Unveils Digital Life Certificate Campaign 3.0: Empowering Pensioners Nationwide

RR Team, November 6, 2024

Dr. Jitendra Singh recently launched the Nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 3.0, a large-scale initiative to enhance the digital empowerment of pensioners across India. This campaign, which spans 800 cities and towns from November 1 to November 30, 2024, aims to simplify the process for Central and State Government pensioners, as well as those from the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) and autonomous bodies. Pensioners can now easily submit their Digital Life Certificates at Pension Disbursing Banks or through the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), while those over 90 years old have access to doorstep services for added convenience.

Dr. Singh highlighted that the DLC initiative, branded as Jeevan Praman, reflects Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a Nation First, Citizen First approach that centers on digital empowerment. Originally launched in 2014, Jeevan Praman was later enhanced in 2021 with a Face Authentication feature to make the DLC submission process even easier. Following successful earlier campaigns—Campaign 1.0, covering 37 cities, and Campaign 2.0 in 2023, covering 100 cities—DLC Campaign 3.0 is the largest to date. This year’s campaign includes over 1,900 camps in 800 locations nationwide, supported by more than 1,100 nodal officers. Additionally, a massive team of 1.8 lahks Gramin Dak Sewaks will provide IPPB services in hundreds of locations, while Pension Disbursing Banks will run their own DLC camps in 157 cities.

The campaign encourages pensioners to offer feedback through social media, helpline numbers, or Pension Welfare Associations (PWAs). This input will help identify improvement areas, ensuring that the system remains user-friendly and accessible. With real-time monitoring on the DLC portal, the government aims to streamline the process and address any issues as they arise.

For those who may not have access to digital resources, traditional methods remain available. Pensioners can still submit their life certificates by visiting pension offices or through post offices, ensuring that no one is excluded. Dr. Singh expressed confidence in the campaign’s success and looks forward to continued support from all stakeholders to make DLC Campaign 3.0 a nationwide success.

The DLC Campaign 3.0 launch was attended by senior officials including Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary of DPPW, Shri Dhrubajyoti Sengupta, Joint Secretary DPPW, Smt. Devika Raghuvanshi, CGDA, Shri Sanjay Sharan, DG India Post, and Smt. Shalini Kacker, CGM of SBI, among others.
