The museum, a collaboration between the Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation and the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, adds to the city’s impressive lineup of museums.

A Grand Opening at Eco Park
The museum was inaugurated by Firhad Hakim, Mayor of Kolkata, who shared his pride on social media, announcing the launch of India’s first Solar Dome at Eco Park. This eco-friendly structure provides electricity for the museum and lights up nearby streets.

A Journey into Renewable Energy
The Solar Dome Museum isn’t just another museum—it’s an educational hub that takes visitors on a journey through the world of renewable energy. Explore interactive exhibits, and immersive displays, and learn about solar power, wind energy, and sustainable living. The museum’s design reflects its mission to promote sustainability and eco-friendly architecture.

Architectural Wonder
The solar dome stands at 27 meters high and has a 45-meter diameter, making it an architectural marvel. The dome is powered by 2,086 solar panels, symbolizing the power of sustainable energy. The museum features 50 interactive displays and six immersive tunnels, offering a unique and engaging experience for all ages.

Interactive Fun for Everyone
The museum has something for everyone, including interactive robots, quizzes, and online games that make learning about renewable energy fun. A kids’ zone is also available, ensuring that families can enjoy the experience together. Don’t miss the viewing gallery with panoramic views, and visit the four vision theatres that screen films about sustainability and futuristic urban planning.
