India’s Boldest Tribal Outreach: DhartiAaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan Launched
In a landmark step toward inclusive governance, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) has launched the DhartiAaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, a massive tribal empowerment drive aimed at ensuring last-mile delivery of key government schemes across tribal belts of India.
Unprecedented Scale and Vision
Unveiled as part of the ongoing Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh celebrations, the Abhiyan is designed to cover:
549 tribal-dominated districts
207 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) districts
Over 2,900 blocks
Nearly 1 lakh villages and habitations
Union Minister Shri Jual Oram described this campaign as a historic milestone towards realising the dream of Antyodaya—uplifting the last person in the queue. The campaign reflects the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing people’s participation (Janbhagidari), tribal dignity, and development.
“Through this campaign, we’re not just delivering schemes; we’re delivering self-respect and a shared stake in Viksit Bharat,” said Shri Oram.
Flagship Campaign Timeline
Running from June 15 to 30, 2025, this fortnight-long mission is set to become one of the largest saturation campaigns ever targeted at tribal regions. The focus is on benefit saturation—ensuring no eligible tribal household is left out.
Holistic Convergence Approach
What makes the DhartiAaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan unique is its model of convergence. It combines multiple ministries, schemes, and grassroots stakeholders to deliver a package of essential public services, such as:
Aadhaar enrolments and updates
Ayushman Bharat Health Card issuance
Jan Dhan bank account opening
PM-Kisan Yojana enrolments
Pension and insurance scheme coverage
Skill training and livelihood program registrations
Access to scholarships and educational support
This camp-based, participatory approach ensures accessibility for even the remotest tribal habitations.
On-Ground Mobilization Efforts
Over 125 District Magistrates and Deputy Commissioners have already initiated pre-campaign mobilization with:
Panchayati Raj Institutions
Tribal community leaders
Self-help groups and field workers
Their efforts include awareness drives, mobilization events, and infrastructure readiness for saturation camps.
A Step Under PM-JANMAN and DAJGUA
This initiative is part of the larger framework of:
PM-JANMAN (PM Janjatiya Nyay Maha Abhiyan)
Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA)
These programs aim at sustainable tribal development through rights-based, community-driven governance.
Legacy, Culture, and Pride
The campaign also honors the rich legacy of India’s tribal communities by actively involving them in nation-building efforts. It aims to integrate them economically, socially, and digitally with mainstream India, without compromising their cultural identity.
Conclusion: Building Viksit Bharat with Tribals at the Core
The DhartiAaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan isn’t just a government campaign—it’s a movement for dignity, rights, and recognition of India’s tribal communities. By ensuring grassroots access to essential services, it sets a new benchmark for inclusive and participatory governance.
This is tribal empowerment reimagined—a nation walking hand-in-hand with its most ancient communities toward a shared future.
