Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Strengthened
President Murmu emphasized that the India-Singapore relationship has been elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Singapore last year. She welcomed the joint roadmap laid out by Prime Ministers Modi and Wong, which reflects the expanding bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
Agreements signed during the visit are set to boost collaboration in emerging sectors such as the green economy, space technology, civil aviation, financial technology, and skill development. Both leaders noted that these steps will deepen trade, investment, and innovation linkages between the two nations.
Trade, Investment, and Defence Cooperation
The President acknowledged Singapore as a major source of investment for India, with Singaporean investments steadily growing. She also underlined expanding defence cooperation, including bilateral exercises, training, and strategic exchanges.
President Murmu further appreciated the role of the Indian diaspora in Singapore, noting their contribution to cultural exchange and people-to-people ties that enhance the bilateral relationship.
