Enhancing Patient Safety in Nagaland
The MoUs aim to promote rational and safe use of medicines, support ADR reporting, and facilitate training for healthcare professionals, including physicians, pharmacists, and nurses. By leveraging the National Formulary of India as a reference, these initiatives will ensure quality control and improve patient safety standards across the state.
Strategic Significance of the MoUs
The MoU with NSDCA is IPC’s second such agreement, after UPFDA, and the first in the North Eastern region. Similarly, the State Pharmacy Council MoU is the fourth in India. These collaborations aim to reinforce medicine safety surveillance mechanisms, establish ADR and Medical Device Monitoring centres, and provide technical guidance to healthcare establishments in both public and private sectors.
IPC and its partner organizations will work collectively to promote structured capacity-building, encourage wider participation in pharmacovigilance programmes, and improve the safe use of medicines throughout Nagaland.
