India’s Green Future Gets PM Modi’s Praise

RR Team, July 16, 2025July 16, 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again reinforced India’s commitment to a cleaner, greener tomorrow. On July 15, 2025, he lauded the country’s ongoing progress toward sustainable development and climate resilience.

Responding to a post by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi shared a message that echoed India’s environmental mission. He said, “This illustrates India’s commitment and efforts towards building a green and sustainable future.”

India’s Green Mission: A Nation on the Move

India is steadily advancing toward a green future. The government has launched multiple initiatives to combat climate change and reduce its carbon footprint.

These include programs like National Solar Mission, Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (FAME), and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

According to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, India is on track to achieve 50% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030 (Source: MoEFCC).

Clean Energy: The Backbone of Sustainability

India’s commitment to clean energy is clear and determined. As of 2025, the country boasts over 180 GW of renewable energy capacity, including solar, wind, hydro, and biomass.

PM Modi’s government has made solar energy a key focus. The International Solar Alliance, spearheaded by India, is now a global platform for collaboration in solar innovation.

Through the PM-KUSUM scheme, farmers are also being empowered to switch to solar-powered irrigation, reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

National Policy, Local Impact

Environmental policies don’t stay on paper. They touch real lives. India’s green growth strategy focuses on both urban and rural sectors.

The Smart Cities Mission incorporates eco-friendly urban planning. Rooftop solar, rainwater harvesting, and energy-efficient public transport are part of this transformation.

In rural areas, programs like Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) have helped reduce energy costs and improve access to clean lighting.

PM Modi’s Vision: One Earth, One Family, One Future

At the recent G20 and COP summits, Prime Minister Modi pushed forward India’s vision of “Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE)”. This philosophy promotes sustainable living through everyday choices.

From reducing single-use plastics to encouraging eco-friendly commuting, LiFE aims to make sustainability a habit.

“Our actions today will define the world of tomorrow,” PM Modi said at the United Nations Climate Action Summit. His words continue to guide India’s climate narrative.

Private Sector and Public Partnership

India’s green transition isn’t just government-led. The private sector is playing a major role.

Companies like Tata Power, ReNew, and Adani Green are investing heavily in renewable infrastructure. Public-private partnerships are accelerating clean mobility, green hydrogen, and biofuel innovation.

India now ranks among the top three countries for renewable energy investment, according to IEA’s 2024 Energy Investment Report.

Youth and Grassroots Movements

India’s green push is also people-powered. Young leaders, students, and NGOs are leading clean-up drives, tree plantations, and awareness campaigns.

Movements like ‘Fridays for Future India’ and ‘Youth Ki Awaaz Green’ amplify the voice of the new generation demanding environmental justice.

This collective action fuels the nation’s shift to a sustainable future. The Prime Minister’s appreciation sends a message of encouragement and unity.

As we move forward, one thing is clear: the green future is not just about environment. It’s about life, livelihoods, and lasting progress.
