Kiren Rijiju Inaugurates PM VIKAS Skill Centre in Delhi

RR Team, July 15, 2025July 16, 2025

Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, will inaugurate the new PM VIKAS Training Centre at Tilak Nagar, New Delhi, on July 16, 2025. The initiative, part of the government’s flagship Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme, aims to empower youth through skill-based training in modern, high-demand job roles.

DSGMC Onboarded as Implementing Agency

The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has been officially onboarded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs as an implementing agency for this training project. The centre will provide free training to 31,600 youth, including 29,600 for skill development and 2,000 for educational support.

DSGMC’s collaboration marks an important step toward inclusive and community-driven development, particularly benefiting minority communities and underprivileged sections.

Job-Focused Training Programs

The new PM VIKAS centre offers industry-aligned training in emerging job sectors. Candidates will be trained in:

  • Technical Artist (AR-VR): Focusing on immersive technology, animation, and gaming.
  • Social Media Influencer: Training youth to create content and build online careers.
  • General Duty Assistant (GDA): Offering support roles in the fast-growing healthcare sector.

All courses are free of cost, and trainees will receive a monthly stipend from the Ministry of Minority Affairs during their training period.

Empowering Minority Youth Through PM VIKAS

The PM VIKAS scheme is part of the government’s effort to nurture traditional skills, promote modern training, and build entrepreneurship among minority youth. With this centre, the government is directly addressing the aspirations of youth in urban areas like Delhi.

Shri Kiren Rijiju has reiterated that the goal is not just to provide training but also to connect candidates with real job opportunities and create pathways to self-reliance and growth.

Focus on Delhi’s Minority Communities

Tilak Nagar is a diverse and densely populated locality in West Delhi. Setting up a PM VIKAS centre here will help bring skills training closer to the doorstep of marginalized communities. This aligns with the government’s inclusive development agenda, ensuring that no community is left behind.

Community Participation and Awareness

The inauguration is expected to draw participation from local leaders, youth groups, and community organizations. Outreach campaigns will be conducted to increase awareness about the available courses and how to enroll.

Online registration portals and local helpdesks will be set up to assist candidates with the application process. The target is to ensure maximum participation by women, youth, and the differently-abled.

Conclusion: A New Chapter in Youth Empowerment

The launch of the PM VIKAS Training Centre in Delhi represents a significant investment in the future of India’s youth. By combining modern job skills with cultural heritage, the scheme empowers communities, boosts employment, and strengthens India’s digital and economic future.
