54,000+ Reunited at Maha Kumbh 2025 with Tech & Effort

RR Team, March 2, 2025June 7, 2025

Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh — The recently concluded Maha Kumbh 2025 became a historic moment not just for spiritual reasons, but also for human compassion and coordination. Held after 144 years, the grand event drew over 66 crore devotees from India and abroad.

Thousands Separated, Thousands Reunited

Due to the massive crowd, many got separated from their families. But thanks to prompt action, over 54,357 people were reunited with their loved ones. This included women, elderly, and children who had lost contact in the sea of pilgrims.

Digital Khoya Paya Kendra Led the Way

The Digital Khoya Paya Kendra, set up by the Uttar Pradesh government, was the backbone of the reunification efforts. This tech-driven centre alone reunited over 35,000 people. Most of them were women and children. The centre worked quickly, ensuring minimal delay.

Police and NGOs Played Crucial Roles

Alongside the centre, UP Police worked tirelessly. Their efforts extended even to reuniting people from Nepal. Meanwhile, NGOs like Bharat Seva Kendra and Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Smriti Samiti also stepped up. Led by Umesh Chandra Tiwari, they reunited 19,274 individuals, including 18 missing children.

Festival Days Saw Peak Reunions

Reunifications peaked during the major snan parvs.

  • On Makar Sankranti, 598 people were reunited.

  • On Mauni Amavasya, the number rose to 8,725.

  • On Basant Panchami, 864 found their families again.

  • On regular days and smaller festivals, 24,896 devotees were helped.

These efforts brought the total successful reunions via the Khoya Paya Kendra to 35,083 by the end of the Kumbh.

A Testament to Good Governance and Compassion

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally supervised the planning. His team ensured the event ran smoothly despite the vast crowds. Law enforcement, government staff, and volunteers all coordinated well. Together, they showed how faith and administration can go hand in hand.

Many devotees thanked the Chief Minister for this efficient system. Families were deeply moved by the compassion and support they received.

More Than Just a Religious Gathering

Maha Kumbh 2025 was not only a spiritual milestone but also a powerful example of unity, humanity, and effective governance. It proved that with the right vision and collective effort, even the largest crowds can be handled with care and compassion.
