Connectivity in the Konkan Region
Shri Scindia emphasized the significant expansion of digital infrastructure in the Konkan region. Palghar district now hosts 5,463 4G and 1,609 5G BTS, Thane has 6,710 4G and 1,989 5G BTS, Raigad has 2,940 4G and 791 5G BTS, Ratnagiri has 2,292 4G and 465 5G BTS, and Sindhudurg has 975 4G and 256 5G BTS installed.
This extensive network deployment ensures reliable connectivity for residents, businesses, and public services, while laying the foundation for seamless transition to 5G technologies in the near future.
Digital Empowerment Across Maharashtra
The Union Minister stated that the expansion of 5G infrastructure, combined with near-complete 4G coverage, will accelerate digital empowerment across the state. Citizens can now expect faster internet speeds, improved mobile services, and better access to digital tools for education, healthcare, governance, and commerce.
Shri Scindia emphasized that this development aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision, ensuring that every citizen benefits from high-quality digital connectivity. Continued investment in telecom infrastructure will also support economic growth, innovation, and a more connected society.
