Inspection of Training Facilities and Sports Science Integration
Upon arrival, Dr. Mandaviya was welcomed by senior SAI officials and briefed on campus activities, achievements, and upcoming projects. He began his tour at the Archery Centre of Excellence, interacting with coaches and athletes and commending their dedication. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to grassroots talent development, he highlighted the importance of scientific training methods for enhancing performance.
The Minister participated in a tree plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, promoting environmental awareness alongside sports development. He then visited the archery range, kabaddi court, medical centre, wrestling hall, sports science department, and strength & conditioning hall. Dr. Mandaviya appreciated the integration of technology and sports science in athlete preparation and stressed regular health and performance assessments for optimal results.
World-Class Infrastructure and Upcoming High-Performance Centre
Dr. Mandaviya inspected the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH), the upcoming High-Performance Centre (HPC), and the indoor kabaddi hall. He noted the significant infrastructural progress and reiterated that such world-class facilities are critical to nurturing India’s athletes and preparing them for international competitions.
Interaction with Coaches and Staff
The visit concluded with an interactive session with coaches and staff members. Dr. Mandaviya lauded their efforts in shaping India’s sporting ecosystem and emphasized the government’s vision of fostering a strong sports culture. He highlighted that robust training facilities, scientific coaching, and dedicated personnel are key to achieving India’s goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
