Mann Ki Baat 2025: PM Modi Highlights India’s Major Achievements

RR Team, December 28, 2025December 29, 2025
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday used the 129th edition of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat to reflect on India’s major achievements in 2025, calling it a year filled with moments of national pride and renewed self-confidence. Addressing citizens across the country, the Prime Minister said that India left a strong mark globally, from national security and sports to science, culture and innovation.

PM Modi noted that the year offered countless occasions that every Indian could feel proud of, underlining how collective effort and determination shaped the country’s progress. His address wove together stories of courage, achievement and cultural rootedness that defined India’s journey through the year.

Security and National Pride

Highlighting national security, the Prime Minister referred to Operation Sindoor as a defining moment of 2025. He said the operation demonstrated India’s uncompromising stance on security and sent a clear message to the world that modern Bharat would not hesitate to protect its interests.

PM Modi added that during the operation, powerful expressions of love and devotion towards the nation emerged from Indians across the globe. He linked this spirit of patriotism with the completion of 150 years of the iconic national slogan “Vande Mataram”, calling it a reminder of India’s enduring unity and resolve.

Historic Year for Indian Sports

Calling 2025 a memorable year for sports, the Prime Minister praised Indian athletes for their exceptional performances on the world stage. He highlighted the men’s cricket team’s victory in the ICC Champions Trophy and described the women’s cricket team’s first-ever World Cup win as a historic milestone.

Special mention was made of the Indian women’s blind cricket team, whose triumph in the Women’s Blind T20 World Cup showcased resilience and determination. PM Modi also lauded para-athletes for winning multiple medals at world championships, saying their success proved that no obstacle is greater than human willpower.

Science, Space and Environment

India’s progress in science and space was another key highlight of the Prime Minister’s address. PM Modi recalled how astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla became the first Indian to reach the International Space Station, describing it as a proud moment for the nation’s scientific community.

He also spoke about environmental conservation efforts undertaken during the year. Notably, the cheetah reintroduction programme crossed an important milestone, with the cheetah population in India rising beyond 30. According to the Prime Minister, such initiatives reflect India’s commitment to ecological balance and wildlife protection.

Culture, Faith and Heritage

PM Modi said 2025 stood out as a year where faith, culture and heritage came together vividly. The grand organisation of the Prayagraj Mahakumbh at the beginning of the year drew global attention and showcased India’s civilisational depth.

At the close of the year, the flag hoisting ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya filled the nation with pride. The Prime Minister described these events as symbols of India’s spiritual strength and cultural continuity.

Boost to Self-Reliance and Youth Leadership

Emphasising the growing enthusiasm for indigenous products, PM Modi said more Indians are choosing goods made through the hard work of fellow citizens. He said this shift towards Atmanirbhar Bharat has strengthened the country’s economic confidence.

Addressing young minds, the Prime Minister spoke about the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, aimed at giving youth a platform to present ideas for nation-building. He announced that the dialogue would be held on National Youth Day, coinciding with Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, and confirmed his participation.

Global Indians and Social Awareness

PM Modi highlighted how Indians abroad are staying connected to their roots. He cited the example of Kannada families in Dubai who launched the ‘Kannada Pathashaale’ to teach children their mother tongue, an initiative that now connects over a thousand students.

He also paid tribute to freedom fighter Parbati Giri of Odisha, recalling her role in the Quit India Movement and lifelong dedication to social and tribal welfare. Concluding his address, the Prime Minister urged citizens to use medicines responsibly, stressing that antibiotics should only be taken on medical advice.
