Other popular hatchbacks such as Celerio, Wagon-R, Ignis, and Swift have also become cheaper, with reductions ranging from ₹71,300 to ₹94,100. The premium hatchback Baleno now comes with a price cut of up to ₹86,100, starting at ₹5,98,900.
For sedan buyers, the Dzire has received a cut of up to ₹87,700, while utility vehicles such as the Brezza and Grand Vitara now cost up to ₹1,12,700 and ₹1,07,000 less respectively. The Fronx, another compact SUV, sees a price drop of up to ₹1,12,600.

Festive Boost for the Auto Industry
Industry experts believe that this announcement will provide a timely boost to India’s automobile sector, which typically sees higher demand during the festive season. Lower car prices are expected to drive footfalls at dealerships and improve overall sales volumes.
Sanjeev Grover, Executive Officer & Company Secretary of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, confirmed the development, stating that the company remains committed to passing on government benefits to customers without delay.
The reduction comes at a time when automakers have been requesting policy support to stimulate growth and maintain momentum in the passenger vehicle market. The Government of India has been actively using GST adjustments as a tool to revive consumption across sectors, including automobiles.
Customer Impact
For buyers, the price cut means more affordable options across all categories—whether it’s a budget hatchback, a family sedan, or a feature-rich SUV. The move could also encourage first-time car buyers who were previously hesitant due to high costs.
With competition intensifying in the Indian automobile market, Maruti Suzuki’s decision to implement full GST benefits may also push rival companies to announce similar reductions in the coming days.
As India gears up for the festival season, the timing of this decision could prove to be a game-changer for Maruti Suzuki and the broader passenger vehicle industry.
