Ministry of Ayush Launches Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme to Strengthen Public Service

RR Team, March 19, 2025March 19, 2025

The Ministry of Ayush has taken a significant step toward fostering a more compassionate and citizen-centric workforce with the launch of the Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme. Inaugurated by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, on March 18, 2025, this initiative, spearheaded by the Capacity Building Commission, aims to reshape how government employees perceive and execute their roles in public service.

At its core, the program is not just about reinforcing the spirit of ‘Seva Bhav’—the deep-rooted ethos of service—but also about equipping individuals with new skills and perspectives. Addressing the participants, Secretary Kotecha emphasized that true public service extends beyond duty; it requires a conscious effort to recognize one’s privileges and use them to uplift others. By instilling a sense of accountability and empathy, the program seeks to ensure that government employees don’t just fulfill responsibilities but actively contribute to societal well-being.

The Deputy Director General of the Capacity Building Unit, Shri Satyajit Paul, echoed this sentiment, stressing the importance of approaching public service with the right mindset. He pointed out that when employees perform their duties efficiently and with a sense of purpose, it not only improves service delivery but also creates a more structured and harmonious work environment. Encouraging participants to absorb and apply the program’s teachings, he emphasized that the ultimate goal is to bring services closer to citizens in a more effective and timely manner.

The training, led by Dr. Subodh Kumar and facilitated by Ms. Shipra Singh from the Capacity Building Commission, saw enthusiastic participation. Attendees engaged in discussions about their roles within the Ministry of Ayush, gaining valuable insights into how their contributions align with national development goals. The role of Ayush in promoting traditional systems of medicine and improving public health was also explored, reinforcing the ministry’s commitment to holistic well-being.

Unlike conventional lecture-based training, the Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme adopts an interactive, dialogue-driven approach. Through structured discussions, teamwork exercises, and problem-solving activities, participants are encouraged to reflect on their responsibilities and develop a stronger connection to their work. The training spans four concise sessions, allowing individuals to explore self-motivation, leadership, and real-world applications of their learning. Drawing inspiration from successful national initiatives led by the Ministry of Ayush, the program presents practical case studies that highlight the transformative impact of dedicated public service.

By blending skill-building with a renewed sense of purpose, the Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme aims to create a more responsive and service-oriented government workforce. It is a reminder that governance is not just about administration—it is about uplifting lives, strengthening communities, and ensuring that every citizen feels seen, heard, and supported.
