MY Bharat Adds WhatsApp Chatbot for Youth Services

RR Team, June 28, 2025June 27, 2025

In a big leap towards digital empowerment, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has launched a WhatsApp chatbot integration with the MY Bharat portal. This move is set to revolutionize how India’s youth access opportunities, training, and support from the government.

Quick, Mobile-First Access to MY Bharat Services

With WhatsApp being one of the most used communication platforms among youth, this chatbot aims to make services more accessible. Users can simply send a ‘Hi’ to 7289001515 on WhatsApp to begin. After OTP verification, they can instantly explore a wide range of services.

Current features include:

  • Exploring Experiential Learning Programs
  • Joining Volunteering Opportunities
  • Creating a CV or Youth Profile
  • Finding and becoming a part of Mentorship programs
  • Reporting issues and getting support

Upcoming Features to Look Out For

According to officials, several new features are planned in the coming months. These include:

  • In-app registrations and event notifications
  • Media uploads for participation and feedback
  • Automated reminders and follow-ups
  • Certificate delivery and task tracking

This proactive system will also broadcast campaign content, highlight major events, share toolkits, and notify youth about new schemes and best practices.

Why This Matters for Indian Youth

This integration is more than just a tech upgrade—it’s a statement of commitment. The Ministry wants to reach young citizens where they are most active—on mobile and on WhatsApp. By embedding public services into familiar platforms, it ensures easier participation and faster response times.

Key Benefits for Youth Participants

  • Easy and direct access to government programs
  • Quick onboarding for events and training
  • Real-time updates and reminders via WhatsApp
  • Better support and issue resolution
  • Daily broadcasts on volunteering and learning

About MY Bharat

MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat) is a digital platform by the Department of Youth Affairs and developed by Digital India Corporation, MeitY. It aims to promote ‘Seva Bhav’ (spirit of service) and ‘Kartavya Bodh’ (sense of duty) among youth through mentorships, CV building, volunteering, and skill development.

With this WhatsApp integration, MY Bharat becomes even more inclusive and efficient—encouraging youth to take charge of their own development journey and become active partners in nation-building.

Final Thoughts

This initiative reaffirms India’s digital-first approach and the government’s focus on empowering its young population through accessible and personalized technology. It’s an inspiring step that bridges the gap between youth and public service platforms in a meaningful, mobile-first way.
