President Murmu to Inaugurate
President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the National Arogya Fair 2026 on 25 February at Visava Maidan of Sant Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan in Shegaon. The ceremony will also be attended by the Governor of Maharashtra, Union Minister of Ayush Shri Prataprao Jadhav, senior state officials and distinguished guests.
The inauguration marks the beginning of a comprehensive public outreach programme aimed at strengthening awareness about Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy systems of medicine.
Free Ayush Health Services for Citizens
One of the main attractions of the National Arogya Fair 2026 is the provision of free health check-ups, medical consultations and distribution of medicines across all Ayush streams. Citizens will have access to expert doctors and therapists offering guidance on preventive and promotive healthcare.
The fair will also feature yoga demonstrations, live therapy sessions, expert lectures and interactive discussions. Visitors can explore thematic exhibitions showcasing traditional remedies and evidence-based practices developed within the Ayush ecosystem. A special medicinal plants exhibition will highlight commonly used herbs and home-based remedies suitable for everyday health management. The event aims to strengthen public confidence in India’s indigenous knowledge systems.
Focus on Farmers and Medicinal Plant Cultivation
Beyond healthcare, the National Arogya Fair 2026 carries a strong focus on farmers’ welfare, especially those from Vidarbha and neighbouring regions. Union Ayush Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav has emphasised the potential of agroforestry and medicinal plant farming as sustainable income sources.
A dedicated session on “Ayurvedic Farming, Production and Marketing” will be held on 27 February at 3 pm at the Visava premises. Experts will guide farmers on cultivation techniques, post-harvest processing, value addition and marketing strategies for medicinal crops.
The objective is to integrate medicinal plant cultivation with traditional agriculture, helping farmers diversify their income streams. By linking farmers to the growing Ayush value chain, the initiative aims to generate both economic resilience and rural employment.
