National Youth Award 2024 Nominations Open Till Sept 30

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, has officially invited nominations for the National Youth Award (NYA) 2024. The prestigious award is designed to recognize and motivate young individuals and voluntary organizations contributing to national development and social service.

Objective of the Award

The National Youth Award celebrates the achievements of young citizens aged between 15 and 29 years who demonstrate excellence in community service, social responsibility, and innovative development activities. It also acknowledges voluntary organizations that work tirelessly to uplift youth and strengthen the nation’s social fabric.

Awards and Benefits

The award is conferred in two categories — Individual and Organisation. Each year, up to 20 individuals and 5 organizations are recognized, though the number may vary depending on merit.

  • Individual Award: ₹1,00,000 cash prize, medal, and certificate.
  • Organisation Award: ₹3,00,000 cash prize, medal, and certificate.

How to Apply

Nominations for NYA 2024 must be submitted online only through the official portal awards.gov.in. The last date for submission has been extended to September 30, 2025. Detailed guidelines, eligibility criteria, and instructions are also available on the portal.

Fields of Recognition

Individuals and organizations engaged in meaningful work across multiple domains are encouraged to apply. Eligible fields include:

  • Health and well-being
  • Research and innovation
  • Culture, art, and literature
  • Promotion of human rights
  • Tourism and heritage
  • Traditional medicine and smart learning
  • Community service and active citizenship
  • Sports and academic excellence

National Recognition

The awards are usually conferred during the National Youth Festival, a flagship annual event celebrating the spirit of India’s youth. By recognizing outstanding contributions, the Ministry seeks to inspire more young citizens to take up leadership roles in building a progressive society.
