NIELIT’s Yuva Rojgar Mela: 16+ Companies, 1,000+ Jobs

RR Team, September 29, 2024June 8, 2025

Job Fair Overview and Participation

The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) organized the Yuva Rojgar Mela on September 29, 2024, at its Delhi campus in Janakpuri. This job fair aimed to connect skilled youth — including NIELIT’s alumni and students — with employment opportunities. The event attracted over 1,300 registered participants and featured participation from 16 leading companies, which collectively offered more than 1,000 job openings across various sectors.

Inauguration and Key Remarks

Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi, the Director General of NIELIT and Vice-Chancellor of NIELIT Deemed to be University, inaugurated the event. In his speech, Dr. Tripathi stressed the importance of such job fairs in bridging India’s skill gap. He shared that last year’s NIELIT job fairs resulted in over 6,000 offer letters distributed to job seekers, and he expressed confidence that this number will grow in 2024.

He also appreciated the efforts of the NIELIT Delhi team for successfully organizing the event and thanked the participating companies for their commitment to providing jobs to the youth.

Skill Development Session

The job fair included a special session on “Soft Skills and CV Building”, conducted by Shri Mohammad Junaid, Assistant Manager at Digital India Corporation, MeitY. This session helped participants improve their employability skills, including how to prepare effective resumes and present themselves better in interviews.

Companies and Job Opportunities

Several well-known companies set up recruitment desks at the fair, including:

  • Tech Mahindra

  • PAYTM

  • Axis Bank

  • Hinduja Housing Finance

  • Frankfinn

These companies actively shortlisted candidates for various roles across industries like IT, finance, customer service, and more.

About NIELIT

NIELIT is a premier institution under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, dedicated to skill development and capacity building in the fields of Information, Electronics, and Communication Technology (IECT). With over 52 centers across India, NIELIT plays a vital role in nurturing talent and preparing youth for the job market.

Its designation as a Deemed University at NIELIT Ropar, along with 11 other constituent units nationwide, highlights its strong commitment to education and employment readiness.

Impact and Future Plans

The Yuva Rojgar Mela reflects NIELIT’s continued focus on creating job opportunities for its students and alumni. The event not only connects employers with talented job seekers but also helps improve the overall employability of youth through skill-building sessions.

NIELIT plans to keep organizing such job fairs to provide regular employment platforms and support the growing demand for skilled workers in India’s expanding job market.
