Om Birla’s Inspiring 79th Independence Day Message

RR Team, August 15, 2025August 15, 2025

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s Independence Day Message

On the eve of the 79th Independence Day, Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla extended heartfelt greetings to the nation.

In a message filled with pride, gratitude, and resolve, he called on all Indians to honor the sacrifices of the past and work together for a prosperous future.

Remembering the Sacrifice of Freedom Fighters

Shri Om Birla began his address by paying tribute to the countless freedom fighters, revolutionaries, and national heroes who gave their lives for India’s independence.

“This day of 15th August awakens a sense of pride and self-respect in the heart of every Indian,” he said. “We pay heartfelt tribute to the unwavering struggle, sacrifice, and dedication that secured our independence.”

He reminded the nation that freedom came at a great cost. It was achieved not in a day, but through decades of resilience and courage. From Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violent movement to the valiant efforts of Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, and countless unsung heroes, every act of defiance brought India closer to freedom.

India’s Journey as the World’s Largest Democracy

The Speaker reflected on the transformation of India from a colonized nation to the world’s largest democracy and a leading global economy.

Today, India stands tall in the fields of science, medicine, technology, space, and sports. Achievements such as the Chandrayaan lunar missions, advances in pharmaceutical research, and dominance in global cricket have showcased India’s potential on the world stage.

He emphasized that this progress is a result of self-respect and self-reliance — values deeply rooted in the spirit of independence.

Protecting and Honoring Our Freedom

Shri Om Birla urged citizens to safeguard the dignity of India’s hard-won freedom. He called for unity in purpose and dedication to nation-building.

“There was a time when 40 crore Indians turned the dream of an independent India into reality through their unwavering hard work,” he reminded. “Today, 140 crore Indians must work together to fulfill the vision of a prosperous nation.”

His words echoed a key message — independence is not just about the past, but also about the responsibility of the present and the promise of the future.

Pledge for a Stronger, United India

The Speaker encouraged every citizen to pledge on Independence Day to fulfill their duties with sincerity, loyalty, and dedication. This pledge, he stressed, is the foundation of progress and unity.

By promoting equality, strengthening democratic institutions, and contributing to community welfare, each Indian can be part of the journey towards self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat).

Significance of the 79th Independence Day

This year’s Independence Day comes at a time when India is poised to become one of the top three economies in the world. With a young, skilled population, rapid digital adoption, and global partnerships, the nation is on a path of historic growth.

Yet, challenges remain — climate change, economic inequality, and the need for sustainable development demand collective action. Shri Om Birla’s message resonates with these priorities, urging Indians to stand united in addressing them.

Bharat Mata Ki Jai – A Call for National Pride

The address concluded with a powerful “Bharat Mata ki Jai”, a reminder of the emotional bond that connects every citizen to the motherland.

From the lanes of Kota-Bundi to the bustling streets of Mumbai, from the villages of Assam to the tech hubs of Bengaluru, the Speaker’s message was a call for unity in diversity — the true spirit of India.
