Online Ticket Booking for ASI Monuments Now on ONDC

RR Team, January 6, 2026January 6, 2026
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), under the Ministry of Culture, has launched online ticket booking for over 170 centrally protected monuments and museums through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). This digital integration allows visitors from India and abroad to book entry tickets seamlessly via multiple platforms.

With ASI’s ticketing system integrated into the ONDC Network, citizens can now access tickets through various applications, enhancing convenience and promoting efficient, transparent delivery of public services. The initiative ensures visitors enjoy benefits such as a ₹5 discount for Indian citizens and ₹50 for foreign nationals, while also bypassing physical queues at monuments and museums.

Enhanced Accessibility and Digital Integration

The ONDC-enabled ticketing system has been technically facilitated by NSDL Database Management Limited (NDML), which onboarded ASI’s full inventory of monuments and museums. Users can currently book tickets via applications like Highway Delite (available on web, Android, and iOS), Pelocal’s WhatsApp-based ticketing (by messaging “Hi” to +91 84228 89057), and Abhee by Mondee (Android and iOS). Several additional consumer platforms are being integrated in phases.

Benefits for Visitors and Tourism

This integration not only streamlines entry but also boosts tourism by providing easy access to India’s iconic heritage sites. By leveraging interoperable digital systems, ASI aims to improve the visitor experience, strengthen transparency, and modernize heritage management. Tourists can now plan visits more efficiently, ensuring quicker entry and better overall experience at monuments and museums.

Future of Digital Heritage Access

The ASI’s move to integrate ticketing with ONDC reflects India’s commitment to digital governance and accessibility in the cultural sector. By enabling multiple entry points for booking, the initiative encourages wider engagement, supports heritage tourism, and provides a model for similar digital transformations across public services.
