PF Commissioner Speaks at APFC Orientation Valedictory

RR Team, December 13, 2025December 13, 2025
New Delhi: The three-week Orientation Programme for newly promoted Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners (APFCs), Batch-II, concluded at PDUNASS on December 12, 2025.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) marked the successful conclusion of its three-week Orientation Programme for newly promoted Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners (APFCs), Batch-II, with a valedictory ceremony at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Academy of Social Security (PDUNASS), New Delhi. The programme, designed to prepare frontline Group ‘A’ officers for higher responsibilities, culminated with an address by Central Provident Fund Commissioner (CPFC) Shri Ramesh Krishnamurthi.

Addressing the officers, Shri Krishnamurthi congratulated the trainees on completing the rigorous programme and emphasized that their roles extend beyond administrative implementation. He urged them to act as facilitators of quality service delivery and as ambassadors of EPFO’s mission to secure the financial future of millions of members across the country.

Focus on Service, Empathy and Professionalism

The CPFC commended Shri Kumar Rohit, Director, PDUNASS, for conceptualising and executing a meticulously structured training programme. He acknowledged the academy’s efforts in blending statutory knowledge with soft skills, leadership development, and ethical governance.

“As you step into your new roles, remember that your responsibility is not merely to enforce rules but to embody EPFO’s commitment to transparency, trust, and service excellence,” Shri Krishnamurthi said. He encouraged officers to internalise the spirit of empathy while dealing with members, noting that compassionate governance strengthens public confidence in institutions.

Comprehensive Training for Modern Challenges

The Orientation Programme covered a wide range of subjects critical to EPFO’s functioning, including the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, pension administration, compliance management, and grievance redressal mechanisms. In addition, trainees received inputs on communication skills, team building, goal setting, personal wellbeing, and financial planning.

Trainees shared that the programme helped them gain a holistic understanding of their responsibilities and prepared them to handle complex service delivery challenges. They expressed gratitude to the faculty and the PDUNASS leadership for fostering a learning environment that encouraged open dialogue and collaborative problem-solving.

Innovative Learning and Compassion in Governance

Welcoming the Chief Guest, Director PDUNASS Shri Kumar Rohit congratulated the officers for their commitment and active participation throughout the programme. He noted that the course was curated to empower APFCs with the competencies required to perform effectively as frontline leaders within EPFO.

Highlighting the programme’s unique initiatives, Shri Rohit referred to activities such as the “Delicious Initiative” and structured “Book Review” sessions, which promoted creativity, informal bonding, and teamwork. A newly introduced module on ‘Compassion in Governance’ was particularly appreciated for reinforcing the importance of empathy, inclusivity, and balanced decision-making in public administration.

Collective Effort Behind the Programme

Shri Rohit acknowledged the contributions of Course Director Manish Naiyer, along with senior officers and faculty members including Rizwan Uddin, Uttam Prakash, Vijay, Ravindra Babra, Ankur Gupta, Sanjay Rai, and Harish Yadav. He also thanked external faculty members and the PDUNASS support team for ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.

Special appreciation was extended to trainee officers Abhilash, Sunita Madhusudan, Manjunath, Vimal Thakkar, and Seema for their cultural performances, which added vibrancy to the learning experience and strengthened camaraderie among participants.

Strengthening EPFO’s Institutional Capacity

The valedictory ceremony underscored EPFO’s emphasis on continuous capacity building and leadership development in the evolving social security landscape. With expanding digital services and rising member expectations, the organisation views well-trained officers as central to delivering efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric services.

As the newly promoted APFCs return to their respective postings, the training imparted at PDUNASS is expected to translate into improved service delivery and stronger institutional trust, aligning with EPFO’s broader mandate of ensuring social security for India’s workforce.
