“दशपुत्रसमा कन्या दशपुत्रान् प्रवर्धयन्।
यत् फलम् लभते मर्त्यस्तल्लभ्यं कन्ययैकया॥”
The Subhashitam conveys that a daughter is equal to ten sons, and that the merit or virtue one attains from ten sons can also be attained from a single daughter. The message reinforces the idea that daughters are not lesser, but equally if not more valuable to families and society.

In his post on X, the Prime Minister wrote in Hindi that in a nation where daughters are considered Lakshmi, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign was launched 11 years ago. He highlighted that it is a matter of great pride that today India’s daughters are setting new benchmarks across sectors, from academics and sports to science, entrepreneurship and public service.

11 Years of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao
