PM Modi lauds Operation Sindoor in Mann Ki Baat, shares visuals of damaged Pak terror hideouts

RR Team, May 25, 2025June 1, 2025

In his monthly radio address Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with deep emotion and pride as he reflected on Operation Sindoor, hailing it as a powerful expression of India’s new resolve in the global fight against terrorism. Far beyond a military manoeuvre, Modi described the operation as the embodiment of a changing India—one that stands firm, acts decisively, and carries the strength of unity and indigenous capability.

Sharing visuals of terror hideouts destroyed across the border in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Modi praised the Indian Armed Forces for their precision, bravery, and unwavering spirit. The mission, launched in the early hours of May 7 in response to the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians, demonstrated the Indian military’s capability to respond swiftly and powerfully in the face of provocation.

The Prime Minister underlined that the success of Operation Sindoor was a testament not only to the courage of India’s soldiers but also to the country’s growing self-reliance in defense production. He emphasized that Indian-made weapons, equipment, and cutting-edge technology—products of the dedication of countless engineers and technicians—were crucial to the mission. The message was clear: the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) is not just a slogan, but a reality shaping the nation’s security and future.

Modi also spoke with heartfelt appreciation about the citizens who came out in massive numbers for Tiranga Yatras—flag marches held across cities, villages, and towns to honour the armed forces. He was visibly moved by the images of youth and civil defence volunteers proudly carrying the tricolour, especially noting the viral videos from Chandigarh that captured the nation’s united spirit.

Operation Sindoor, though conducted over a short span of days, left a significant mark. With more than 100 terrorists eliminated and major terror infrastructure dismantled, the operation sent a clear message that India will no longer tolerate attacks on its civilians. The military action was followed by intense cross-border exchanges but eventually came to a halt on May 10 after both sides reached an understanding.

In his address, Modi’s voice carried both the gravity of the losses India has borne and the pride of a nation that is no longer hesitant to protect its people. His words echoed the sentiments of millions—grief over the innocent lives lost, admiration for the armed forces, and a renewed sense of unity and purpose in the fight against terrorism.
