New Delhi, June 5, 2025 – On the occasion of World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a major green initiative by leading a special tree plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. The event will be held at Bhagwan Mahavir Vanasthali Park, Delhi, at 10:15 AM, reflecting India’s growing commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
🌳 Tree Plantation to Reforest the Aravallis
The Prime Minister will plant a Banyan sapling, symbolizing India’s cultural and ecological roots. This initiative is part of the ‘Aravalli Green Wall Project’, which aims to revive and green the 700-kilometre-long Aravalli range, spanning 29 districts across Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Gujarat.

In a push towards green mobility, PM Modi will also flag off 200 Electric Buses under the Delhi Government’s Sustainable Transport Initiative. This marks a major step in transitioning to eco-friendly urban transport.
