PM Modi’s Green Push on World Environment Day

RR Team, June 4, 2025

New Delhi, June 5, 2025 – On the occasion of World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a major green initiative by leading a special tree plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. The event will be held at Bhagwan Mahavir Vanasthali Park, Delhi, at 10:15 AM, reflecting India’s growing commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.

🌳 Tree Plantation to Reforest the Aravallis

The Prime Minister will plant a Banyan sapling, symbolizing India’s cultural and ecological roots. This initiative is part of the ‘Aravalli Green Wall Project’, which aims to revive and green the 700-kilometre-long Aravalli range, spanning 29 districts across Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Gujarat.

Key features of the Aravalli Green Wall Project:

Reforestation and afforestation in a 5-km buffer zone along the Aravallis.

Generating employment opportunities and alternative incomes for local communities.

Strengthening India’s green cover and commitment to environmental conservation.
