The President will arrive in Rajkot on the evening of October 9. The following morning, on October 10, she will offer Darshan and Aarti at the historic Somnath Temple — one of India’s 12 Jyotirlingas and a major pilgrimage center on the western coast. Her visit underscores the temple’s cultural and religious importance in India’s heritage.
Interaction with Tribals and Visit to Gir National Park
Later that day, President Murmu will visit the famous Gir National Park, the only habitat of the Asiatic lion. She is also scheduled to meet and interact with members of the local tribal community in Sasan Gir. The interaction aims to highlight the government’s ongoing efforts toward tribal welfare, inclusion, and sustainable conservation in the region.
Darshan at Dwarkadhish Temple and Convocation at Gujarat Vidyapith
On October 11, the President will continue her spiritual journey with a visit to the revered Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka, dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites, symbolizing faith and devotion across generations of devotees.
Later the same day, she will grace the 71st Convocation Ceremony of Gujarat Vidyapith in Ahmedabad as the chief guest. The event will bring together scholars, students, and academicians, celebrating the university’s role in advancing Gandhian education and research. Founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920, the Vidyapith remains a beacon of value-based education and self-reliance.
