Prime Minister Modi Pays Tribute to Guru Gobind Singh Ji on Parkash Utsav

RR Team, December 27, 2025December 27, 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid heartfelt homage to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on the sacred occasion of Parkash Utsav, remembering the tenth Sikh Guru as an eternal symbol of courage, compassion, and supreme sacrifice. In a message shared with the nation, the Prime Minister said Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s life and teachings continue to inspire generations to stand firmly for truth, justice, and the protection of human dignity.

The Parkash Utsav, which marks the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, is observed with deep reverence by the Sikh community across India and the world. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the timeless relevance of the Guru’s vision and its role in shaping a society rooted in righteousness, selfless service, and moral courage.

PM Modi’s Message on Parkash Utsav

In his message posted on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said the nation bows in reverence to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on his sacred Parkash Utsav. He described the Guru as an embodiment of bravery, empathy, and sacrifice, whose teachings urge people to uphold justice and righteousness even in the face of adversity.

“His life and teachings inspire us to stand for truth, justice, righteousness and to protect human dignity. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s vision continues to guide generations towards service and selfless duty,” the Prime Minister said, underlining the enduring moral and spiritual influence of the Sikh Guru.

Remembering a Visionary Spiritual Leader

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, born in 1666 in Patna Sahib, holds a unique place in Indian history and spiritual tradition. As the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, he played a decisive role in shaping the Sikh identity and strengthening the foundations of a just and fearless society. His establishment of the Khalsa in 1699 emphasized equality, discipline, and unwavering commitment to righteousness.

The Prime Minister’s tribute recalled how Guru Gobind Singh Ji dedicated his entire life to the service of humanity. Through his teachings, writings, and personal example, the Guru urged people to rise above fear, injustice, and oppression, while remaining rooted in compassion and ethical conduct.

Recollection of Visit to Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib

Along with his message, Prime Minister Modi also shared memories from his visit earlier this year to Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, one of the five sacred Takhts of Sikhism and the birthplace of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He recalled offering prayers and having darshan of the holy Jore Sahib associated with Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.

The Prime Minister described the visit as a deeply spiritual experience, reflecting the profound connection millions of devotees feel with the Guru’s legacy. Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib remains a major center of faith, drawing pilgrims from across the country and abroad.

Teachings That Transcend Time

Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s teachings continue to resonate in contemporary times, particularly his emphasis on standing up against injustice while maintaining humility and compassion. His life stands as a reminder that spiritual strength and moral courage are essential to protect human dignity and societal harmony.

On Parkash Utsav, gurudwaras across India organized prayers, kirtans, and community service activities, reflecting the Guru’s message of seva and collective responsibility. The Prime Minister’s message added to the nationwide atmosphere of remembrance and gratitude.

National Leaders Extend Tributes

Messages honoring Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji poured in from leaders across the political spectrum, reaffirming his pan-Indian influence and universal appeal. The Guru’s ideals of equality, bravery, and sacrifice continue to inspire not only the Sikh community but the nation as a whole.
