Raksha Khadse Stresses LTAD and Youth Empowerment in Tripura
In a step to boost India’s youth and sports development, Union Minister of State Smt. Raksha Khadse visited the SAI Sports Training Center (STC) in Agartala. The surprise visit was part of the government’s ‘Poorvottar Sampark Setu’ initiative — a high-impact program aimed at strengthening Northeast India’s development framework.
Focused on Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD)
During her review, Smt. Khadse underlined the need for a Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model. This strategy promotes talent growth from grassroots to elite levels, ensuring sustained progress.
She emphasized that this model, along with Khelo India and SAI initiatives, can position Tripura and the broader region as hubs of sports excellence.

Minister Khadse responded warmly, saying,
“The future of India lies with these young individuals. The central government stands firmly with them, committed to their success.”
This moment gave the visit a strong emotional connect, reinforcing trust between policymakers and youth.

The minister said the government’s focus is on creating Olympic-level athletes by 2028 and 2032. The SAI STCs will play a key role in shaping this journey.
Training from a young age, access to global facilities, and tailored nutrition and care will prepare youth to compete with the best in the world.
A Message of Hope and Support
In her closing remarks, Smt. Khadse praised Tripura’s youth for their energy and enthusiasm. She called the Northeast the “backbone of India’s bright future”, not only in geography but in human skill and potential.
