RAV Hosts 30th National Seminar on Paediatric Ayurveda

RR Team, August 19, 2025August 20, 2025

Ayurveda Takes Centre Stage in Paediatric Health

Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV), under the Ministry of Ayush, hosted the 30th National Seminar on “Management of Illness & Wellness in Paediatrics through Ayurveda” at the Scope Complex Auditorium, New Delhi, on August 18, 2025. The two-day seminar aims to advance holistic child healthcare, bringing together scholars, researchers, practitioners, and students of Ayurveda.

The inaugural session highlighted Ayurveda’s potential to shape resilient, healthier generations. Experts emphasized that integrating time-tested practices with modern scientific validation can improve preventive child healthcare and address emerging challenges effectively.

Dignitaries and Key Participants

The event saw the presence of several prominent figures. Vaidya Devendra Triguna, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee and President of RAV’s Governing Body, commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for globalizing Yoga and Ayurveda. Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopala, Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), praised the Ministry of Ayush for building public trust since its inception.

Other dignitaries included Vaidya Mukul Patel, Governing Body Member, RAV, and Vaidya Rakesh Sharma, Governing Body Member, RAV. Dr. Vandana Siroha, Director of RAV, emphasized the seminar’s significance in realizing the vision of “Swasth Balak, Swasth Bharat”, underlining Ayurveda’s paediatric branch, Kaumarbhritya, for its comprehensive approach to child wellness.

Strengthening Paediatric Healthcare Through Ayurveda

Union Minister of State (I/C), Ministry of Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, in a written message, said, “Ayurveda places child health at the cornerstone of a flourishing society. This seminar highlights Ayurveda’s holistic approach to paediatric illness management and wellness promotion.”

Experts stressed the convergence of traditional knowledge and modern science. Scientific evidence supporting Ayurvedic practices can help manage childhood ailments and prevent health issues from an early age. The seminar also highlighted the role of nutrition, lifestyle interventions, and preventive strategies in ensuring a healthy childhood.

Highlights of Day One

The first day of the seminar included:

  • Scientific Presentations: Evidence-based approaches in paediatric Ayurveda were showcased.

  • Poster Sessions: Innovative research by young scholars and practitioners demonstrated new strategies in child wellness.

  • Interactive Dialogues: Discussions focused on preventive and promotive child healthcare, integrating Ayurveda into modern practices.

Academicians, researchers, practitioners, and students actively participated, sharing insights and contributing to a collective roadmap for advancing paediatric healthcare through Ayurveda.

Global Recognition of Ayurveda

Vaidya Devendra Triguna lauded the efforts of PM Modi in taking Yoga and Ayurveda to the global stage. He recognized the role of RAV in promoting paediatric wellness and the contributions of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in strengthening research and education in the Ayush sector.

The seminar demonstrated that Ayurveda can offer innovative solutions to modern health challenges, particularly in children’s preventive healthcare and overall wellness.

Public Trust and Growth in the Ayush Sector

Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajagopala highlighted the Ministry of Ayush’s consistent growth in public trust. She attributed this to robust government support, the dedication of Ayush professionals, and initiatives like RAV’s national seminars. These events have become instrumental in bridging the gap between traditional knowledge and modern scientific practices.

The seminar also emphasized research dissemination. The unveiling of a Souvenir and research posters symbolized key achievements in paediatric Ayurveda and highlighted the work of young scholars contributing to evidence-based practices.

Kaumarbhritya: A Focus on Child Wellness

Dr. Vandana Siroha stressed the importance of Kaumarbhritya, Ayurveda’s paediatric branch. This discipline addresses both preventive and curative care, including diet, lifestyle, and natural remedies tailored for children.

The seminar reinforced that holistic child healthcare is central to building a healthy society. Initiatives under the theme “Swasth Balak, Swasth Bharat” aim to ensure that every child benefits from integrated healthcare strategies combining Ayurveda and modern science.

Future Outlook: Building Healthy Generations

The 30th National Seminar marks a significant step toward advancing paediatric healthcare in India. By integrating traditional wisdom with scientific evidence, practitioners can develop preventive strategies, innovative therapies, and wellness programs for children.

Experts concluded that nurturing healthy children today is essential for a healthy and productive society tomorrow. The event inspired collaboration between academic institutions, research organizations, and healthcare practitioners, shaping a brighter future for India’s children.

Conclusion: Ayurveda at the Heart of Child Wellness

The seminar at RAV not only showcased India’s rich Ayurvedic heritage but also emphasized its relevance in modern child healthcare. With strong government support and the dedication of professionals, Ayurveda continues to play a pivotal role in advancing holistic wellness for children across India.

The deliberations, scientific discussions, and research presentations at the event will help strengthen national initiatives like “Swasth Balak, Swasth Bharat”, paving the way for healthier, happier, and resilient future generations.
