Sacred Jore Sahib Enshrined at Patna Sahib Gurdwara

RR Team, November 2, 2025November 3, 2025
In a historic and spiritually uplifting ceremony, the sacred Jore Sahib  the holy footwear of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji — was enshrined at the revered Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib on November 1, 2025. The event witnessed the presence of Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Hardeep Singh Puri and a congregation of thousands of devotees from across India.

Journey of Faith: From Delhi to Patna

The enshrinement marked the conclusion of the nine-day Guru Charan Yatra, which began in Delhi and traversed through Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar before reaching Patna. The sacred relics were carried in a grand procession led by the Panj Pyaras, symbolizing devotion, unity, and spiritual strength. Thousands of devotees gathered along the route, showering flowers and offering prayers as the yatra passed through their towns.

The event underscored the deep emotional connection between devotees and the legacy of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Tenth Sikh Guru, and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji. The journey not only symbolized a spiritual pilgrimage but also reaffirmed the community’s collective devotion to Sikh heritage.

Union Minister’s Personal Connection

During the ceremony, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri shared his heartfelt reflections, recalling his family’s centuries-old association with Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He mentioned how his ancestors were entrusted with the sacred relics more than 300 years ago, marking this moment as both historic and deeply personal. His words added emotional depth to the event, bridging history and devotion in an unforgettable way.

Preservation and Authenticity by IGNCA

Before the commencement of the yatra, the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) was entrusted with scientifically validating the antiquity of the 300-year-old Jore Sahib. The Conservation Division of IGNCA, under the guidance of Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi and Prof. Achal Pandya, completed the preservation and authentication process with utmost care, ensuring that the relics retained their sanctity and historical integrity.

The relics were then ceremonially handed over in Delhi to the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and the Takhat Sri Patna Sahib Management Committee for their onward journey to Bihar. This collaborative effort reflected the unity and shared devotion within the Sikh community worldwide.

Symbol of Eternal Devotion

With their permanent enshrinement at Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji the sacred relics now serve as a living symbol of faith, courage, and service. Devotees can now seek darshan and blessings from the Jore Sahib, reaffirming the spiritual link that transcends time and generations.

This landmark event stands as a timeless tribute to the enduring values of seva (service), shraddha (faith), and samarpan (devotion). The enshrinement of the Jore Sahib will continue to inspire millions across the globe to walk in the path of righteousness shown by Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.
