Sewa Parv 2025: Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang

RR Team, September 22, 2025September 22, 2025
The Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is celebrating Sewa Parv 2025 from 17th September to 2nd October as a nationwide festival of service, creativity, and cultural pride. Guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047, the festival unites communities, institutions, and individuals in a collective movement of Sewa (service), art, and cultural celebration.

Art Workshops Across India

On 21st September 2025, vibrant art workshops and cultural programmes were held across Odisha and Tamil Nadu under the theme “Viksit Bharat ke Rang, Kala ke Sang”. These events brought together students, professional artists, and enthusiasts to celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage.

Chennai, Tamil Nadu

At the Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre in collaboration with Kalakshetra Foundation, over 2,500 participants engaged in workshops guided by eminent figures including Shri Suresh Kumar Chikkala (Director, Kalakshetra), Thiru Kalaimamani Trotsky Marudu, and iconic art director Shri Thotta Tharani. Senior artists like Shri A. Viswam, Shri Sunil Kumar, and Shri Shiba Prasad Sahu contributed to the creative sessions, making it one of the largest Sewa Parv gatherings in the region.

Raghurajpur, Odisha

At Raghurajpur Heritage Village, 70 female traditional painters showcased India’s living cultural heritage. The event was attended by national awardees Sri Dinabandhu Mahapatra, Sri Biswanath Swain, and Sri Bibhu Mahapatra, along with Sri Lingaraj Moharana (Shilp Guru), who encouraged participants to carry forward India’s artistic legacy with pride.

Puri, Odisha

At Orissa College of Art & Craft, 120 students and artists took part in creative workshops guided by Shri Debendra Das, Shri Nrusinghanath Nayak, and Shri Durga Madhab Kar. The sessions fostered the creative aspirations of young artists while celebrating traditional and contemporary art forms.

Swachhata Activities Across States

Sewa Parv 2025 also emphasized civic responsibility with cleanliness drives in Prayagraj, Damoh, and Kolkata. Institutions like the Allahabad Museum, CCRT Damoh, and Victoria Memorial Hall undertook Swachhata initiatives to promote public hygiene and community participation, reinforcing the message that cleanliness is a key form of service.

Digital Participation and Citizen Engagement

The Ministry of Culture enabled digital participation through the Sewa Parv portal, allowing institutions to upload events and citizens to contribute artworks, photographs, and creative expressions. Participants can share their creations on social media using #SewaParv and join workshops at 75 designated locations nationwide.

The celebrations on 21st September exemplified the synergy of service, art, and culture. From traditional painters in Raghurajpur to students in Puri and thousands of participants in Chennai, Sewa Parv 2025 highlighted creativity, civic engagement, and the collective spirit driving India towards a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
