Shri Rajnath Singh Reaffirms India’s Tough Stance on Terrorism, Calls Pakistan’s Nuclear Threats Irresponsible

RR Team, May 15, 2025May 15, 2025

Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh reaffirmed India’s firm stance against terrorism while addressing Indian Army soldiers at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar. He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reshaped India’s policy, making it clear that any attack on Indian soil will now be treated as an act of war. Shri Singh expressed deep sympathy for the sacrifices made by soldiers and innocent civilians, underlining the nation’s unwavering commitment to protect its sovereignty and respond decisively to threats.

Highlighting Operation Sindoor, Shri Rajnath Singh called it the most significant anti-terrorism operation in India’s history, showcasing the courage and resolve of the armed forces. He praised the soldiers for their bold actions in rooting out terrorists responsible for brutal attacks, including those targeting people based on religion. The operation sent a strong message to terrorist groups and their supporters in Pakistan that no place is safe for them.

The Defence Minister strongly condemned Pakistan’s repeated nuclear threats, calling them irresponsible and dangerous. He questioned the safety of nuclear weapons in the hands of such a nation and urged the international community to place Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Shri Singh also recalled Pakistan’s false promises made two decades ago to stop exporting terrorism, stressing that it continues to shelter anti-India groups and must end this support.

He noted Pakistan’s economic struggles, contrasting it with India’s growing strength and contributions to global financial institutions like the IMF. Shri Rajnath Singh cautioned against any provocative actions from across the border, stressing the importance of respecting the fragile understanding between the two countries.

Reiterating Prime Minister Modi’s viewpoint, the Defence Minister said terrorism and dialogue cannot coexist; any talks with Pakistan will focus solely on the issues of terrorism and the status of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Paying homage to those who lost their lives in terror attacks, including the recent Pahalgam tragedy, he praised the bravery of injured soldiers and wished them a speedy recovery.

Shri Rajnath Singh assured the armed forces of the government’s ongoing efforts to provide them with the latest weapons, advanced technology, and improved infrastructure. He mentioned the rapid domestic production of modern rifles, missile defense systems, and drones, along with enhanced connectivity along the Line of Control (LoC) and Line of Actual Control (LAC). Expressing the nation’s deep gratitude and pride, he affirmed that the government and people stand firmly behind the armed forces in their mission to eliminate terrorism and safeguard India’s sovereignty.

The event was attended by Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, and other senior military officials, all united in their resolve to support the country’s defence and peace.
