Tribal Affairs Ministry Unveils Cultural & Enterprise Drive

RR Team, February 28, 2026February 28, 2026
New Delhi: The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, under the visionary guidance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, is set to launch a series of national initiatives in March 2026 aimed at preserving tribal heritage, promoting creative excellence, and strengthening entrepreneurship. Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Jual Oram unveiled the strategic framework and logos of Tribes Art Fest, Living Roots Festival, and Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 during a press briefing today.

Tribes Art Fest (TAF) 2026 | 02-13 March, Travancore Palace

The Tribes Art Fest will feature over 70 tribal artists displaying nearly 1,000 artworks representing 30 distinct art forms. The festival includes live painting demonstrations, mentorship workshops, illustrated talks, and panel discussions connecting artists, curators, designers, and collectors. The event aims to provide direct market access for artists, ensuring fair returns while enhancing the visibility and dignity of tribal art within India’s creative economy.

Living Roots Festival – The Soundscapes of Tribal India | 13-15 March, Bikaner House & India Gate

This three-day festival will celebrate tribal music traditions, combining immersive showcases, panel discussions on intellectual property rights, and live performances. Daytime sessions at Bikaner House will focus on policy, preservation, and innovation, while evening concerts at Kartavya Path will feature curated performances from diverse regions, positioning tribal music as both culturally rich and economically viable.

Bharat Tribes Fest (BTF) 2026 | 18-30 March, Sunder Nursery

Bharat Tribes Fest will bring together over 1,000 tribal artisans, Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, chefs, and cultural troupes across 200 stalls, showcasing art, craft, and cuisine. Highlights include the Signature Pavilion featuring high-end tribal products, the launch of the Ministry’s “RISA” brand, and an International Pavilion hosting indigenous artisans from Australia, Fiji, and Vietnam. The festival facilitates direct market access, enhances income realization, and promotes cultural exchange and national integration.

Tribal Business Conclave & CSR Summit

The 14-day National Business Conclave will foster tribal entrepreneurship, addressing forest-based food value chains, sustainable textiles, handicrafts, and ethical luxury markets. Sessions on technology integration, skilling, intellectual property, and community-led tourism will promote actionable recommendations and partnerships. The CSR Summit on 24 March will convene corporate leaders, CSR heads, and state welfare departments to strengthen corporate engagement, showcase tribal craftsmanship, and align investments with national priorities.

Shri Jual Oram emphasized that these initiatives collectively create a holistic ecosystem integrating culture, commerce, and corporate partnership. By positioning tribal communities as cultural leaders and economic contributors, the programmes support India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through inclusive and sustainable development. The Ministry urges media participation to mainstream tribal achievements and awareness.
