“UGC NET December 2024 Results Declared: Check Scores and Cutoff Details”

RR Team, February 23, 2025February 23, 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the results for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2024 session on February 22, 2025. Candidates who appeared for the highly competitive exam can now check their scorecards on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The UGC NET exam, conducted by the NTA, serves as a crucial gateway for aspiring academicians and researchers aiming to qualify for Assistant Professor positions or Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) across universities and colleges in India. This year, the computer-based test (CBT) was held over nine days across 558 centers in 266 cities, covering 85 subjects. A staggering 849,166 candidates had registered, with 649,490 ultimately sitting for the examination.

Following the completion of the exam, the NTA released the provisional answer key on January 31, 2025. Candidates were given the opportunity to review the key and raise objections until February 3, 2025, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs. 200 per question. The final results have now been published after careful evaluation of all challenges and objections raised.

The data from the UGC NET December 2024 results indicate that 5,158 candidates have successfully qualified for both JRF and Assistant Professor positions. Additionally, 48,161 candidates have cleared the eligibility criteria for Assistant Professorship and Ph.D. admissions, while 114,445 candidates have been deemed eligible for Ph.D. admissions only.

For many aspirants, the UGC NET results mark a pivotal moment in their academic and professional journeys. The exam is known for its rigorous standards and plays a significant role in shaping the careers of educators and researchers across India. With the results now available, successful candidates can move forward with their plans, whether that means applying for faculty positions, securing research funding, or pursuing doctoral studies.

The direct link to check the UGC NET December 2024 session cutoff marks and individual scorecards has been provided on the official NTA website. Candidates are advised to download their results promptly and ensure they meet the necessary documentation requirements for their next steps.

As thousands of aspirants celebrate their success, the announcement also brings mixed emotions for those who did not clear the exam this time. The competitive nature of UGC NET means that perseverance is key, and many candidates will use this experience to better prepare for future attempts.

With the results now out, the academic community turns its focus toward the upcoming admissions cycle and the evolving landscape of higher education in India. The achievements of the qualified candidates reflect not only their hard work but also the growing aspirations of a nation that values knowledge and research. Congratulations to all successful candidates, and for those who didn’t make it this time, remember that perseverance and dedication will pave the way for future success.
